31 October 2014: 2 day Workshop Lifestyle analysis | Firstbeat HRV 72 hour measurement

That there is an intimate relationship between lifestyle and vitality needs no explanation. That we can objectively, scientifically monitor that relationship is much less well known. HRV (Heart Rate Variability) measurement is a wonderful and well-validated way to make this relationship insightful for client and coach/therapist. The system developed by Firstbeat Finland is exceptionally handy (the monitor weighs only 20 grams). By having the client themselves keep a digital diary of the activities during the measurement period a direct relationship can be established between behavior and the responses of the autonomic nervous system.

Delaying this measurement but preferably 72 h provides a detailed picture of the relationship behavior, vitality, and health. By measuring on 1 day off and 2 working days, a balanced comparison is made between the 3 main periods: work time, leisure time and sleep.

A method that has tremendous added value in your practice. The measurement provides clear information about the balance between effort (daytime) and recovery (at night). This allows you to better identify stressors and provide more targeted lifestyle advice. Experiences in CAM practice and within the world of coaching, career counseling, and lifestyle training indicate that use of this method is an important stimulus for behavior change. Also, the method is excellent to objectively evaluate the effects of the behavioral changes in the long term. Your commander sees in black and white what the result is.

This 2-day workshop will inform you about backgrounds, scientific background, and working methods. You learn to read the reporting and interpret it to your clients.

This workshop includes an HRV measurement that you will take prior to the workshop itself. This way, this method gets concrete meaning and teaches you the value of the Lifestyle measurement according to the Firstbeat HRV concept. Between the first and second workshop days, you should have yourself complete some HRV measurements. Results will be discussed in detail during the workshop days.
